Client Background
Tumbletee provides a complete range of property services including UK Sales, Free Valuations, Lettings and Property Management. They also provide professional advice on market products and changes. Set up in 2015, the company was hit by the COVID lockdown where a lot of things were at a standstill. Post COVID19, the company faced financial, staffing and some operational challenges. It also considered changing its business model.

Our Actions and Solutions
Having analyses the client’s current position, we conducted an analysis using the Porters 5 forces to understand their relevance in the market place, their strength and if a niche approach would be required or a total change in the business model that would make a fundamental change to its cost structure. We helped put together a new cash flow forecast based on the new strategy and model and provided a number of implementations plans to help get the client started. We have supported the implementation by providing a monthly coaching service.

Client Background
Make My Day is owned by another established ecommerce business in the UK. They wanted to expand their service to start selling wholesale in the US and wanted an entry level plan. This was new grounds for the business, which had never sold in the US before talk less of setting up a company there. There were limited funds allocated to this venture by the business and the directors although experienced ecommerce entrepreneurs had not fully done their homework.

Our Actions and Solutions
We decided to go through Amazon, incorporate a subsidiary US based company and drive visibility and growth through this channel. We also worked on the preferred module to use to access the Amazon market and the best people to partner with in order to develop the business in the United States. We worked on which bank to approach to ensure they pass the due diligence concerns and also what needed to be done to ensure the right US documents were provided like an EIN, etc. We also considered transfer and transaction costs of doing business in the US and helped research and chose a firm of accountants in the US to help navigate tax matters.

Douceurs D’Ivoire is a private limited company specifically set up for events and catering activities. It specialises in African food for the international community. Business was well known to its community of foodies for its pop ups, takeaway meals and specialty Chef events. Business wanted to expand to selling precooked meals to supermarket chains and intermediaries.

Our Actions and Solutions
To understand the businesses value for investors we started off with a full business valuation, taking into account a number of factors such as the health of the balance sheet, its buyers and sellers, current and projected P&L and the value of its current customers. We then embarked on writing a full investors business plan, analysing the current market place, the businesses operation and capabilities and the financials. In the interim, we initially helped the business raise some seed money through a business Loan. We also did a business diagnostic.

Client background
BYL offers a provision of safe and secure supported accommodation for vulnerable young people from all areas of society. They are a new company of experienced directors in the sector and needed a business plan to raise finance with private investors and loan funding. None of the directors had the experience to write a business or test that the idea was not just viable but sustainable. In addition, they required a road map to from ground zero to set up and lift off. 

Our actions and solutions
We offered a full service from start up to staff recruitment to funding to operational plan.  We provided the business planning service including market research for the business and financial forecasts and potential business valuation. We provided job descriptions and specs for staff recruitment and other business documents required to effectively run the business. We also provided a marketing and financial plan with clear milestones that were dated. Effectively, this was a hand holding request. Boutique Stone sources high quality, handpicked curated collections of marble, limestone, travertine, and porcelain tiles tiles from around the world. They have a turnover of over a million pounds a small team of people and have grown quickly over a short period of time. The Results
Whilst £20,000 may seem small, it was what the business needed to bridge the cash flow challenge it had at the time.  Businesses don’t always fail because they are not a good idea nor because they are not profitable, but often because of cash flow problems. We stopped that failure and put the business on the right road to thriving again.

Client Background​
The client’s business had a cash flow problem.  This was as a result of the lockdown in the city of London which is where the business is based.  They had benefited from the Bounce Back Loan which on the one hand was good for them at the time, however reduced some of the other funding options they could access.  The business needed further quick cash liquidity to cover other operating expenses but didn’t know how or where to access further finance. The business owner was referred to RBSS Consulting by another client we had worked with.

Our Action
One of the RBSS Business Consultants conducted a full free business diagnostic with the client by way of a Business Health Check focusing on the 5 key drivers of the business: People, Systems, Finance, Marketing and Operations. This was to enable us to understand and address any underlying issues besides the cash flow issues and enable the business to be more profitable and viable especially when faced with the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic.  This enabled us to come up with a number of workable plans and solutions which related directly to his business. We drew up a report and discussed this with the client and embarked on the preferred option.

​Our Solution
Whilst we couldn’t get the business owner all he wanted, due to other financial challenges their business had, we were able to help the business access the needed funds through an additional cash advance of £20k through a Merchant Cash Advance (MCA). This is unsecured and we got it in record time for the business.  With this, he was able to make stock payments which were overdue and buy the additional stock required in cash.

Most importantly, the repayment of the loan was tied to his monthly revenue as opposed to being fixed.  The flexibility of this method meant it was very affordable for the business without acquiring unnecessary debt and being able to attend to other monetary requirements. There were no personal guarantees or security against the proprietor’s property or assets and the interest rates were fair and acceptable.

With the £53,000 raised the company was able to take on more work, service the work with the required staffing and build up their reserves to be able to reinvest in diversifying the business.  The company has now started an additional venture in the up-cycling business, using the same core competencies of the main business.

Client Background
Mark Cohoon is the Director and owner of N8 Property Services. He was introduced to RBSS Consulting by his accountants to help with raising finance for his business.  The challenge is that not many funders, especially banks are funding firms within the construction industry. Mark had tried a number of options to raise finance without success or when he did get an offer, it was at astronomical interest rates. The business main problem was cash flow issues.  It was a profitable business, but many business close down not because they are not profitable but because they have cash flow problems.
