JJE Supermarket Case Study by RBSS Consulting in Romford, Essex

The problem

Dope Dagban owns a small business called JJE Supermarket. She was referred to us by another client we had helped. She came to us wanting to grow her business that had stagnated after start up. She did not really know what else to do having tried a number of DIY approaches with minimal success. She made the decision to work with the RBSS team.  She was initially reluctant, thinking it would cost her an arm and a leg. 

This is what followed

The Business Consultant conducted a full free Business Health Check focusing on the 5 key drivers of a business: People, Systems, Finance, Marketing and Operations. This exercise included a benchmark with her industry sector and competitors. We produced a report that served as our working document and the basis for discussion with business owner. We had a full discussion with the client and identified the key priority areas we could work on that would give maximum impact within a reasonable period of time and show on their bottom line.

Our solution

• Prepared a business plan with a budget and financials including a cash flow within a couple of weeks
• We raised £25,000 finance for the business at a single digit interest rate payable over a convenient period of time
• We researched, identified and facilitated access to new markets
• We helped her create structure for her business
• We advised on a more tax efficient legal structure for the business

The Results

After 2 years of working with this client, their sales have doubled, but more importantly her profits margins have tripled. They have increased their customer base and retained 85% more customers.
